Commemorative

Our Commemorative Services

At Kedron-Wavell Sub Branch we are proud to honour the service and sacrifice of Australian Defence Force members—past and present—through our annual commemorations.

Each service provides an opportunity for members, families, schools, veterans and the wider community to come together in reflection, gratitude and remembrance.

ANZAC Day – 25th April

ANZAC Day commemorates the landing at Gallipoli in 1915 and honours all Australians who have served and died in wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations.

Our service reflects the enduring ANZAC spirit of courage, mateship and sacrifice and typically includes:

  • Wreath laying
  • The Ode of Remembrance
  • The Last Post and a minute’s silence
  • The National Anthem

VP Day – 15th August

Victory in the Pacific (VP) Day marks the end of the Second World War in the Pacific in 1945.

This service recognises those who served in the Pacific theatre, including prisoners of war, and honours those who did not return.

Remembrance Day – 11th November

Remembrance Day marks the Armistice of 11 November 1918, which ended the First World War.

At 11:00 am, we pause for one minute’s silence to remember all Australians who have died in service to our nation.

The service includes:

  • The Ode of Remembrance
  • The Last Post
  • One minute’s silence at 11:00 am
  • Wreath laying
